Lagos Love
Fashion is huge in Lagos and everybody tries to stand out in the way they dress. Sometimes it just looks a hot mess and sometimes it works. For this collection I have taken basic pieces and added a little Lagos flare mixing materials and texture here and there and adding femininity to basic pieces.
My inspiration for this collection is Lagos life. Everyone I know has a love-hate relationship with this city, including me. Before you touch down the wahala has begun... from your small seat on the plane you see a cluster of shacks, yellow buses, okada and what seems like a million people in one tiny space.
My initial idea for the photoshoot for the collection was to capture to disparity of wealth in the most populous city in Africa, but I just couldn't bear the heat so we captured the Posh side of Lagos. Enjoy!
One scripture that I reflected on and put in action during this trip and throughout the process of creating this collection was Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Collection 2 Spring/ Summer 2012
African wax can be seen in the mainstream market from Burberry to H&M. these fashions have been worn by African and many African-american women for years but over the past few years this style has recently made an impact on worldwide fashion.
Collection 2 was inspired by the needs of my customer. People requested color block styles along with adjustable outfits that had flair.
I am currently taking orders for Collection 2, which will be ready for delivery before the end of May. Check out the sketchs and the fabric options for each.............
